Lower Digestive Endoscopy, Colonoscopy or Panfibrocolonoscopy endoscopy consist in exploring all lower gastrointestinal tube (anus, rectum, sigmoid, rest of colon to cecum and the terminal ileum opening) with an endoscope that is inserted through the anus of the patient.
An endoscope is a thin flexible tube with a camera and a lens attached that allows us to get a live image of the entire digestive tract, take tissue samples (biopsy) and apply various treatments.
At our facilities it is always done under anesthetic sedation (except contraindication) for patient comfort.
Colonoscopies are performed with prior authorization from the insurance company or by private patient. Contact us and we will advise.
